Quadratus Lumborum. Nope, it's not a spell you'd learn at Hogwarts. It's a rectangular shape core muscle that attaches your lower ribs on the back to your pelvis. It's a pretty important muscle that is necessary for walking, running, changing direction and also stabilising the lower spine. When it becomes over active it can be one of the contributing muscles to a strong Anterior Pelvic Tilt. So we're going to look at how we can both relax and train this muscle as well as how we can begin to integrate its function into bigger patterns.
Equipment Required:
A chair or foot stool.
A belt, band or strap.
2 x Yoga blocks
A small weight (optional)
