"Sex Ap-heel" (6th July)
Integrated Strength
•
58m
A lot of people struggle to find their posterior chain when they move; their weight is shifted forward all the time so they "can't get into" their glutes and hamstrings etc. In order to move well, we need to do both. But of course, since our feet are what make contact with the ground in order to produce force, we have to make sure we can find the posterior end of our feet; in other words, our heels.
In this class, we prep by learning to connect pelvis position and rib cage mechanics with our lower limbs so that we can find our feels and use it to drive out of a squat. We then go through a 4 exercise circuit that helps us find our pelvis and hips by pushing through the heels! It's a burner!
Equipment:
yoga block x 2 (or a small stool)
foam roller (you could sub a rolled up towel)
a book
a wall to work against

Power to the People (20th June)
